Product Description
The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE 59428TV is a 24-hour mechanical plug-in timer designed for indoor use in residential and light commercial applications. It operates on 125 volts at 60 Hz and handles up to 15 amps and 1,250 watts for tungsten loads. The timer features a polarized 2-prong plug-in design with one polarized 2-prong outlet, allowing it to fit directly into a standard wall receptacle without hardwiring. Programming is done in 30-minute intervals, supporting up to 48 individual on/off settings per day. A manual override switch provides instant on/off control independent of the programmed schedule.
The 59428TV is suited for controlling indoor lighting, small appliances, and other plug-in loads in residential homes, apartments, and light commercial settings. It is compatible with compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), making it appropriate for modern energy-efficient lighting setups. Electricians, maintenance technicians, and knowledgeable DIYers typically deploy this timer for automated lighting schedules, holiday displays, and equipment cycling where a simple, no-wiring-required solution is needed.
