The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U4008LFA is a lead-free polybutylene conversion coupling designed to transition existing polybutylene (PB) pipe to standard push-to-connect plumbing systems. It accepts 1/2-inch polybutylene pipe on one end and a 1/2-inch push-to-connect fitting on the other, allowing plumbers to connect PB supply lines to copper, CPVC, or PEX without soldering or crimping. This coupling is manufactured to meet ASTM D3309 specifications for polybutylene pipe. Lead-free construction keeps the fitting compliant with Federal Law 111-380. Plumbers and remodeling contractors use this fitting during partial PB system repairs or full repipes where legacy polybutylene lines must interface with newer piping materials.
This coupling is suited for residential water supply systems that still contain original polybutylene pipe runs.
