The Pentair (Sta-Rite) S8M150 Inner/Outer Cartridge Pack (170147) is the OEM replacement cartridge set for the System 3 S8M150 modular media filter.
IMPORTANT: KIT INCLUDES BOTH INNER AND OUTER CARTRIDGES
This listing is a matched two-piece pack containing one inner cartridge and one outer cartridge the complete replacement element set for a single S8M150 filter. Both pieces are included; do not order separately.
These pleated cartridge elements trap debris as pool water passes through the S8M150 tank, providing the filtration surface area the unit is rated for. Replacing the inner and outer cartridges together as a matched pack keeps flow rate and particulate capture balanced across the full element set.

Compatibility is based on Pentair parts documentation and available OEM records. This is not an exhaustive list. For certainty, verify the part number in your equipment’s manual or on the original part itself before ordering.Note that Sta-Rite was the prior brand, but is now a Pentair brand – this is an OEM replacement cartridge set.
Poolaroo Pro Tip
Rinse both cartridges with a garden hose after each removal and inspect the pleats for tears, compression, or missing end-cap seals before reinstalling. Because the inner and outer elements work together as a single filtration stage in the S8M150 tank, replacing them as a matched pack rather than swapping just one keeps rated filtration area and flow consistent.
