The Waterway 550-0701 is an OEM lock ring assembly designed for the Waterway Pro Clean Plus cartridge filter series. The lock ring is the mechanism that secures the filter tank lid to the base under operating water pressure, creating a watertight seal that keeps the system pressurized and functioning properly throughout the filtration cycle. A cracked, warped, or broken lock ring is one of the most common causes of filter lid leaks and pressure loss on the Pro Clean Plus series, making timely replacement an important maintenance task. Important fitment note: the 550-0701 is the new-style lock ring and is compatible only with Pro Clean Plus filter bases manufactured 2015 and newer, since a separate lock ring is available for pre-2015 bases.
